Sawing - By Hourly Rate:   $ 75

Sawing - By Board Foot:    50 cents  Per Board Foot**

** "Specialty Sawing"... large slabs, logs shorter than 8', large diameter logs, etc....

will require a higher rate and/or billed hourly....(see more info below).

Board Foot pricing on lumber milled at less than 1" thick will be calculated as if 1" thick.

On Portable jobs, The Customer is to provide at least 1-helper to offload boards.

Customer is also to provide "Equipment" (tractor, backhoe, etc...) to handle larger

logs and get the logs to the sawmill loading arms.

Additional charges will apply if no helper or equipment is provided.....(due to the

additional time to process the logs)

These rates are typical and cover most projects.  However, some species or situations

may be higher.  Listed rates are for "Straight, Clean, Quality  Logs" 8.5' to 16.5' long

and 12-25" diameters.....(These are Optimal Sizes)  (Again, my mill can handle logs

up to 21' long and 36" wide (even bigger on some odd-shaped logs).

Blade Damage Fee:           $  30

Minimum Sawing Fees:     $ 150+    (see above)

Sawing Fees at my place in Bullard:   $0 on Set-up and $100 minimum

For your project, there will be a Travel / Set-up fee to get the sawmill there and ready to work.  There may be additional mileage fees required based on distance.  Sawing can be billed "By The Hour" or "By Board Foot".  Eventually most all my milling will be done By The Hour, however, at this time your project will likely be billed By Board Foot and you will only pay for the exact lumber produced (subject to minimums and fees).  Keep in mind that some sawing work, "SPECIALTY" Sawing such as Quarter-sawing / Rift Sawing / Book-Matching Slabs, Mantels, Ovals, "Cookies", Thick-Heavy Slabs, Small 2-3 log jobs,  etc..., any log prepping, any site prepping, certain species, small logs less than 8ft, very LARGE diameter logs, etc...will have a Higher Board Foot rate and/or be billed By The Hour due to the extra labor time involved.

We will have full disclosure before any work begins

My machine (Wood-Mizer LT-50) is a cadilac in portable sawmills and is capable of producing large amounts of lumber very quickly.  However, since I am a newer sawyer, my speed is slower than the machine will work (accurate, just slower).  Therefore, Board Foot pricing makes since for you, the customer.  Again, eventually most all my jobs will be billed By The Hour.  When you contact me, we will fully discuss all billing details.

All projects will have a "Minimum Fee" for sawing.  The Minimum Fee is in addition to Relocating and Mill Set-Up, Mileage, Damaged Blades, etc...

Blade Damage Fee will be charged to the customer for striking any metals, or other foreign materials, in your logs....(damaging/destroying the blade).  You are not responsible for a blade getting dull and me swapping out a new one.  You're only responsible if a blade gets damaged from striking objects in your logs.  Blades are expensive to replace, so if you know of any metals or other "foreign objects" in your logs - Please Point Them Out.  "Yard Trees", Fence Line Trees etc....are great candidates to have wire, nails, bullets, etc.. in them.

We will discuss all current rates / fees when you call.

All projects will require a "Work Agreement" to be signed by you and me before any work begins.

What is a Board Foot?   1" thick  x 12" wide x 12" long  =  1 bf
The Math:   Thickness  x  Width  x  Length  /  12  =  bf

Examples:     2x4x8'    =   (Rough-Cut Size)    1 9/16  x  3 3/4 x  8'  /  12  =   3.90 bf
                      2x10x12'  =  (Rough-Cut Size)   1 9/16 x  9 3/4 x  12'  / 12  =  15.21 bf
